Great staff and nice facilities. Very caring and attentive. The rooms in ICU are very nice and spacious. The therapists, especially speech therapist Mary, are awesome! Social workers and the billing department staff were very nice. We will always be grateful to this place for the incredible love and support they showed to our family.
I went to the emergency room. One nurse called me by my first name (even though I am twice her age—very disrespectful!). Another nurse gave me wrong medical advice (I made the mistake of asking). After speaking to the doctor, I got the correct information. Also, the doctor was respectful, helpful and compassionate. I felt better after speaking to him.
WARNING! If you are expecting please save the pain and the bad experience. As a MOTHER I tell you the experience won’t be a nice one.
Same thing has happened with way too many people in my family and everyone that I ask tells me the same thing.
Called to get an update on my mother-in-law and the nurse, Shakira, had 0 customer service skill. I realize there are HIPPA laws in place and health care staff have to follow them but I didn't ask for specifics and telling me to visit my family member to find out how she is doing to rude and disrespectful. When told we lived an hr away and found out about my mother-in-law being in the hospital, she didn't seem anymore empathic, just rude. Hospital staff need to understand that there are concerned people calling about family. We know there is limited information that can be given. A little respect, care and empathy in your voice would be appreciated. Remember, you may not think you sounded rude but it is all about how the person on the other end receives your information; it wouldn't hurt to try a little heart, head, heart caring communication.
This hospital needs to be shut down or change administration. This is the fourth time a family member and myself comes to give birth and they leave you in “triage” for over 6 hours where they basically put you in a monitor and IV,, and leave you with the excuse that there are no rooms available for you to give birth in. The nurses in “triage” don’t want to be bother with questions and just say to wait for your doctor. Which are never around.
This hospital is just taking advantage that there aren’t many options available in the DMV
But do your research and find a place where they’ll treat you as a human being.
And also train your employees to have customer service skills.
If your hospital can’t take the demand STOP being greedy $$$ and admitting patients that you know you don’t have the space for.
Took child birthing classes and delivered my son here last fall (2016). Great teacher, easily accessible classes, timing worked perfectly for my husband and I. Delivery was a blur, but successful! I remember all the nurses and doctors being very empathetic, patient and helpful. Returning here in the new year for another delivery and feeling confident to have a repeat of excellent service.
I can’t wait for another hospital to open up near me, so that I won’t have to step foot in that place.
